Natalia Dolgova (née Jacobsen)

Professor Natalia Dolgova (formerly Jacobsen) is a Teaching Associate Professor of English for Academic Purposes. Prof. Dolgova has been teaching in the GWU EAP Program full-time since Fall 2013. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Georgetown University and an MA in English Linguistics from George Mason University. Since Fall 2014, Prof. Dolgova has been teaching and coordinating EAP 6111 at GWU. She is also interested in developing discipline-specific courses for the GW EAP students and has previously developed and taught discipline-specific EAP courses for students of Finance, Statistics and Data Science, and Engineering and Computer Science.

Prof. Dolgova’s research interests include conducting pedagogical needs analyses (as defined/informed by task-based language teaching principles) that further serve as a foundation for discipline-specific EAP courses, and applying current usage-based linguistic theory to second language instruction.
