Professor Sayidina is Teaching Assistant Professor of English for Academic Purposes. She is teaching and coordinating EAP 6110. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Exeter, UK, and an MA in TESOL from Georgetown University. In addition to EAP, professor Sayidina specializes in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) with emphasis on English for Engineering, English for Business Communication and English for Nursing. She taught EAP, ESP, Applied Linguistics and Discourse Analysis for more than twenty years in Canada, Britain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The primary focus of her research program is to investigate the influence of L1 literacy practices on subsequent literacies.
