Professor Jennifer Bertolet earned a bachelor's degree in history with a minor in Latin from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in history from George Washington University, and a doctorate in history from George Washington University.  She has been teaching history at GW since 2008 and English for Academic Purposes at GW since 2013.  Additionally, she serves as a GW Faculty Guide at Mount Vernon campus.

Professor Bertolet's research interests include education policy, Native American history, and United States social history.  Her doctoral dissertation examines the federal government’s American Indian education policy during the 1930s.  She is currently writing a United States history textbook for Pearson Publishing.
